The journey began in 2001 with the formation of Picture Head, a partnership between the leading creative film and television advertising agencies. Picture Head grew quickly and continues to be a remarkable success.

In 2013, creative independence flourished further with the launch of Formosa Group. As a company designed to focus exclusively on sound, they capitalized on the desire of creative sound artists to have a truly independent home.
Buoyed by the rapid rise of Formosa Group, the company continued to expand with the founding of Picture Shop in 2016. Picture Shop was quickly embraced by a diverse and robust talent pool, and corresponding client base, due to its mission to engage the same boutique feel and creative ethos embodied in Picture Head and Formosa Group.
In 2018, Trive Capital and Five Crowns Capital were drawn to invest in the unique community of artists driven by a consistent purpose. This capital partnership quickly facilitated four acquisitions. In 2019, Finalé Post in Vancouver joined the Streamland Media community, providing a strategic foothold in Canada. The Farm Group, awarded as the number one post house in the UK, was next to join that same year.
Ghost VFX in Copenhagen joined in 2020, further establishing a diverse international foothold and Formosa Group launched its strategic initiative to expand Formosa Interactive through the acquisition of Seattle based post production studio, Clatter & Din. Together, these acquisitions cemented Streamland Media as an undeniable force in the post production industry.
In 2021, Streamland Media continued to capitalize on the market’s high content expansion through strategic alliances and the post production business of Technicolor Post and Sim International.
In 2022, Streamland Media continued to bolster its talent roster. Adding VFX firm, Ingenuity Studios, with four locations in the US and Canada, further expanding Streamland Media's offerings to content creators worldwide. Formosa Group further expanded its preeminent talent roster and facilities in the UK as well, adding London-based, Noiseworks Limited, which expanded its global interactive creative sound design services and the award-winning sound studio, Sonorous Trident.
